Welcome

I am delighted to introduce you to our Christian community.

We are an Evangelical fellowship that has at the heart of our message the Good News that,

‘God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’ (John 3:16)

Because of God's great love for you and me He has taken the initiative to reconcile us to himself through Jesus Christ (2 Cor 4:5). No longer do we need to be cut off. People who were once hostile to God can become his children, his worshippers and his friends by the reconciliation achieved by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.

We also take seriously Jesus' statement in the gospel of John,

‘Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this will all men know that you are my disciples, if you love one another’. (John 13:34-35)

This love for others is the result of our yielding to the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We let him change us so that we can become more like Jesus Christ. This doesn't mean that those who attend the Worldwide Church of God are perfect. We all still battle the stresses and temptations of this physical life. But the reality of our Christian calling is that we are spiritually reborn, and with Jesus we have a new source of support, guidance, strength, and encouragement to face life in London.

God doesn't always change our circumstances, but he is changing us. He gives us the power to live in whatever circumstances we face, and so as Christians we live with the reality of a new life now, and the sure hope of our Saviour's return.

The Worldwide Church of God in Camberwell is a congregation working to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which members support, strengthen, and encourage each other in the faith and work of the Kingdom to make a difference in the world around us.

As a church we continually strive to know and do the will of God. We all want to come to a better understanding of what God is teaching us through His Word and continually act on what God reveals to us. We actively welcome the opportunity to share the truth of the gospel and fellowship with all who want to know, worship and follow Jesus Christ.

So if you are:

• someone who is seeking the meaning of life, has questions about Jesus and the Christian faith, or
• a committed Christian in London without a regular fellowship, or
• just hurting from the trials and tribulations of living in a large city and need love and support and
• looking for a spiritual home

you will find a warm welcome from our church family.
