Dr. Roy Clements in the preface of his book People who made History said ‘Every preacher is to some extent a plagiarist’, and every preacher and Bible teacher I know borrows from other preachers, authors, and biblical commentators.
I do not claim that all the material on this site originated with me. Sometimes an idea is all my own; other times I borrow ideas from the various sources mentioned above.
As the writer of Ecclesiastes said, ‘What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun’. (Ecclesiastes 1:9 NIV)
The sermons, devotionals and letters on this site are compilations of my own study, experience, personal insight, and the ideas and principles put forward by many great Bible teachers such as D.A. Carson, S.J. Cole, B Graham, H. Palmer, J. Piper, J Stott, C.H. Spurgeon, D. Tidball, R. Warren, P. Williams, R.F. Wilson and many others, to whom I am gratefully indebted.
As the Apostle Paul said to Timothy ‘You have often heard me teach. Now I want you to tell these same things to followers who can be trusted to tell others’. (2 Timothy 2:2 CEV).
I have heard and read many people faithfully teach the Word of God, I am telling the same thing to others in the hope that they too will tell the truth of the gospel to others.
What is contained on this site is not for my glory but for the glory of God.
Soli Deo Gloria.
Pastor Barry
